New: Group responsible
In assessmentQ 2.14, a new concept has been introduced: Group responsible.
Group responsibles have access to the assessmentQ reporting for a restricted number of users:
they can see the reporting of their assignments, but only for the groups of users for which they have been assigned as group responsible.
Group responsibles are managed by the administrator of your assessmentQ environment. To assign a group responsible, the administrator needs to:
- give the user the role of Group responsible.
The role Group responsible is new in assessmentQ. It allows you to define the access to the assessmentQ reporting modules. - add this user as Group responsible to one or more Groups. This way you define for which users the group responsible is allowed to see the results.
Note: Until today, Analysts in your assessmentQ environment had access not only to the Analysis module, but also to the Reporting modules. From this release onward, the Analyst role is by default limited to access to the Analysis module and the access to the Reporting modules has been moved to the role of Group responsible. As a result, you will notice that all users in your assessmentQ environment who previously had an Analyst role:
- now also have the role of Group responsible so that they can still access the reporting modules.
- currently have access to the results of all users. If you want to restrict this access, you should deactivate the permission Access to the results of all users for the role Group responsible and add these users as group responsibles to the correct groups.
New: assessmentQ notification center
Starting from assessmentQ 2.14, exports won't be downloaded immediately anymore, but will happen in the background. In this way, you're able to continue with your work while you are waiting for a report to be exported.
As a backoffice user, you will be notified via the brand new assessmentQ notification center when an export is ready for download.
The advantage of this notification center is that all your notifications are centralised in one place and give you a clear overview of:
- the exports you have downloaded.
Examples of exports are: assignment/user reports (.pdf or .xls), items in the item bank (.aqp), session access codes (.pdf or .xls),... - the content that has been shared with you.
Example: an assignment has been shared with you.
Note: Notifications will automatically disappear after 30 days.
Account setting for e-mail notifications
As a backoffice user, you receive an e-mail notification when an export is ready for download or when content has been shared with you.
Starting from assessmentQ 2.14, you can activate or de-activate these e-mail notifications via the Preferences in your account settings:
Dropdown on background
Starting from assessmentQ 2.14, the Dropdown on background item type is available in the assessmentQ item bank.
The item type contains several improvements in assessmentQ:
- Possibility to resize the background image after it has been uploaded.
- Background images with the file format .svg are now also supported.
- User-friendly way to duplicate dropdowns.
Notes:
- All Dropdown on background items previously created in Edumatic have been migrated to assessmentQ.
- Migrated items containing features that no longer exist in assessmentQ, will have the item status Draft in the item bank, see Removed features. However, they will not be changed automatically when they are already part of an assignment. Participants can answer these items as before.
Accessibility improvement for Interpreting and Recording items
In order for visually impaired participants to be able to take or grade interpreting or recording items, some accessibility updates have been done:
- Participants can now use a screen reader to listen to the function of each button in the Interpreting and Recording items.
- The volume sliders for the left and right ear can also be used now by means of the keyboard and screen reader software, so they can be used by visually impaired participants taking interpreting or recording assignments as well as by visually impaired graders who review the participants' answers.
- The buttons on the detail page in Grading can now also be used by means of the keyboard and screen reader software, enabling visually impaired people to perform gradings of interpreting and recording items.
For more information, see Recording and/ or Interpreting.
Bulk actions for schedules
Until today, bulk actions were not supported in the Schedules module.
Starting from assessmentQ 2.14, schedules can be:
- deleted in bulk, for example, to easily clean up the list of schedules.
More information - finished in bulk, for example, to finish multiple exam schedules at the same time.
More information - archived in bulk, for example, to clean up the participants' portal at the end of the (academic) year.

Optimisation for drag & drop in columns
The procedure for creating a drag and drop in columns item has been thoroughly changed. The new version offers two advantages:
- Adding distractors has become very user-friendly
A separate field has been added in which the author can (optionally) add distractors. - Overwriting scores is now possible for both correct and incorrect answers
When the scoring mechanism Score per element is selected, the author can now overwrite the score not only for the correct answer, but also for the wrong answer.
Setting the time zone for your assessmentQ environment
By default, all time indications in mail notifications and reports were set to the UTC Brussels time zone for our European customers.
Starting from assessmentQ 2.14, your administrator can now set the time zone for your assessmentQ environment. Customers in the UK, for example, can now change to the UTC London time zone.
New option for transition scores in adaptive assignments
Transition scores are the scores in the parts of an adaptive assignment that determine the paths participants can take in an adaptive assignment.
Up to now, the transition score in a part was always calculated per part. Starting from assessmentQ 2.14, a new option has been added for transition scores to be calculated on the total assignment score.
Note: If you are interested in using this option, please contact Televic Education via support@televic-education.com.

Other improvements
- Analysis module
The following item types have been added to the Analysis module:
- Drag and drop in text
- Dropdown in text
- Dropdown on background
- Optimisation for visualisation of attachments in cases
When attachments are linked to a case information page, these attachments are repeated for every item in the case when the options to repeat the case information and to show the first item of the case immediately are enabled in the assignment template.
When a case item already contained its own attachment, then the attachments on the level of the case information page are repeated under the item-specific attachments. - Permanently delete sessions
The right to permanently delete sessions via the Assignment reports module is now linked to the right to permanently delete sessions via the User Reports module. If you (de)activate this right for one module, it will automatically be (de)activated for the other module and vice versa.
