Defining the default time zone of your assessmentQ environment
As an administrator, you can change the default time zone for your assessmentQ environment.
All dates and times in e-mail notifications and in assessment modules are calculated and displayed based on the selected time zone and locale. The selected time zone is mentioned between brackets in the e-mails, for example: 4/10/2023 23:34 (UTC+10:00).
Note: The users can always overwrite this default setting on the user level. See Settings for end users.
Proceed as follows to set the time zone for your assessmentQ environment:
- Go to Settings
> General.
- Go to the Time zone part.
- Select the time zone of your choice.
Result: All dates and times in e-mail notifications and in all assessment modules are calculated and displayed based on the selected time zone.
Setting the default locale for your users
As an administrator, you can change the default locale for your assessmentQ environment. The locale defines the formatting of dates, times and numbers.
All time and date indications in e-mail notifications and in assessment modules are displayed based on the locale. For example 4/10/2023 23:34 (UTC+10:00).
Note: The users can always overwrite this default setting on the user level. For more information, see Settings for end users.
To set the default locale, proceed as follows:
- Go to Settings
> General.
- Go to the Locale part.
- Select the locale of your choice.
Managing the languages for your assessmentQ environment
assessmentQ offers a wide selection of interface languages. As an assessmentQ administrator, you can:
- select the languages that are needed in your assessmentQ environment.
- set the default language for your assessmentQ environment.
The default language will automatically be set for newly created user accounts and assignments:
- Users can - if desired - change their language via their profile. For more information, see Settings for end users.
- Authors can overwrite the default interface language for their assignment. For more information, see Defining the interface language for an assignment.
As an administrator, you select three languages (English, French and Dutch) out of the pool of languages that are available in assessmentQ and you set English as the default language.
Newly created users will by default have English as their user interface language. They will be able to change their profile language into French or Dutch.
When an author creates an assignment, the assignment interface language will be default be English,. The author will be able to overwrite it to French or Dutch or the user language.
Tip: If you want all your users and authors to use the same interface language, select only this language out of the pool of languages that are available in assessmentQ.
To define the languages for your assessmentQ environment, proceed as follows:
- Go to Settings
> General.
- Go to the Languages part.
- If you want to change the selected languages for your assessmentQ environment, click Edit and (de)select the languages of your choice.
- If you want to change the default language for your assessmentQ environment, select the language of your choice in the dropdozn.
Result: All newly created accounts and assignments will automatically be assigned this language.
Setting the default passing score level
As an administrator, you can set the default level at which the authors can set the passing score for their assignment.
- All authors when creating a new assignment, will see the same level at which they can set the passing score for their assignment.
- If required, the authors can adjust the passing score level for their assignment. More information.
To set the default level for the passing score, proceed as follows:
- Go to Settings
> General.
- Scroll down to Default passing score.
- Select the passing score level of your choice.
Result: All authors when creating a new assignment, will see the same level at which they can set the passing score for their assignment.
Starting from 2025.04: Defining the default performance level setting
As an administrator, you can define the default setting for the performance level template to be applied in new assignments.
- When creating a new assignment, all authors will see the performance level template applied consistently at the same level (whether on the assignment only, on the parts only, or on both the assignment and its parts).
- If required, the authors can change the performance level template to be applied to another level in their assignment. More information.
Note: The performance level setting is a beta feature. It is not by default enabled in your assessmentQ envrionment. If you are interested in using performance levels, please contact Televic Education via support@televic-education.com.
To define the default setting for the performance level template, proceed as follows:
- Go to Settings
> General.
- Scroll down to Default performance level.
- Select the setting of your choice.
Result: All authors when creating a new assignment, will see the performance level template applied consistently at the same level.
