- Show expired schedules
- Show the search and filter bar
- Show the remaining time of a schedule
- Show results on the portal
Managing the portal settings is done in the Settings module > General settings > Portal:
Showing the participant's username
Background
By default, the participant's first name and last name are shown on the portal and in the player.
As an administrator, you can decide to also display the participant's username. This provides an additional identification of the participant.
Procedure
Proceed as follows to show the participant's username:
-
Go to Settings
> General.
- Click on Portal.
- Select the option Show the username on the portal and in the player.
Result: The username will be displayed between brackets after the full name of the participant.
Showing upcoming schedules
Background
Upcoming schedules are schedules for which the start time has not yet been reached.
By default, the upcoming schedules are shown on the portal. They are listed under the title Upcoming at the bottom of the portal. Upcoming schedules look greyed out or disabled. The participants cannot click them to see the detail page of the schedule.
As an administrator, you can decide not to show the upcoming schedules on the portal.
Procedure
Proceed as follows to show or hide the upcoming schedules:
-
Go to Settings
> General.
- Click on Portal.
- Select or deselect the option Shown upcoming schedules depending on whether you want to show or hide the upcoming schedules on the portal.
Result: The upcoming schedules will be shown or hidden on the participant's portal depending on your choice.
Note: The scheduler can still decide to hide a specific upcoming schedule on the portal, even when upcoming schedules are displayed by default.
Showing expired schedules
Background
Expired schedules are schedules for which the end date of the schedule has been reached.
By default, the expired schedules are shown on the portal under the live schedules. The participants can still click them to see the detail page of the schedule, but they cannot click through anymore on assignments.
As an administrator, you can decide not to show the expired schedules on the portal.
Procedure
Proceed as follows to show or hide the expired schedules:
-
Go to Settings
> General.
- Click on Portal.
- Select or deselect the option Shown expired schedules depending on whether you want to show or hide the expired schedules on the portal.
Result: The expired schedules will be shown or hidden on the participant's portal depending on your choice.
Notes:
- Expired schedules with an open review period are always displayed on the portal even if the option Show expired schedules is deselected. The participants can then still open their assignment(s) in review mode.
- The portal setting Show expired schedules only has an effect on the homepage of the portal, not the Results page. In case a scheduler decides to publish the results for a schedule, this expired schedule will be shown on the Results page even if this schedule is not shown on the portal homepage.
- The scheduler cannot overrule the default portal setting for showing expired schedules.
Showing the search and filter bar
Background
As an administrator, you can enable the search and filter bar on the portal homepage, so the participants can find a schedule faster. By default, the search and filter bar is not shown on the portal.
The search and filter bar contains:
- A search field for text input allowing the participants to search by the name of a schedule.
- An availability filter allowing the participants to filter on Open, Open for Review, Expired and/or Upcoming schedules.
- A tags filter allowing the participants to filter on schedule tags.
Notes:
- When the schedules do not contain tags, the tags filter is not displayed.
- The tags filter only contains the tags of schedules that are displayed on the portal.
Procedure
Proceed as follows to show the search and filter bar on the portal homepage:
-
Go to Settings
> General.
- Click on Portal.
- Select the option Shown search and filter.
Result: The search and filter bar will be shown or hidden on the participant's portal depending on your choice.
Showing the remaining time of a schedule
Background
As an administrator, you can define whether or not the remaining time of schedules is displayed on the portal.
By default, the remaining time of a schedule is shown on the portal.
Procedure
Proceed as follows to hide the remaining time of the schedules on the portal:
-
Go to Settings
> General.
- Click on Portal.
- Deselect the option Show the remaining time of a schedule.
Result: The remaining time will not be displayed for any schedule anymore on the assessmentQ portal.
Showing results on the portal
Background
As an administrator, you can define if participants can see the Results button on the portal homepage. You can furthermore:
- customize how the score will be displayed (in points, as a percentage, or both).
- decide whether the status passed/failed should be displayed.
- decide whether the participants can download their certificates (if certificates are used for their assignments). For more info, see Certification.
By default, the Results button is not shown.
Procedure
Proceed as follows to show the Results button on the portal homepage:
-
Go to Settings
> General.
- Click on Portal.
- Select the option Show results on the portal.
- Define how the scoring options should be shown and whether the participants should be able to download their certificates.
Result: The Results button will be shown on the participant's portal.
Notes:
- It is the scheduler who decides for which schedules the results will be available on the portal and when, but the Results portal setting has to be enabled for the scheduler to be able to publish the results on the portal. For more info, see Publishing the results of a schedule.
- When the Results portal setting is disabled, the Results never appear on the portal, not even when the scheduler activated the results in a schedule. Also, e-mail notifications for results will no longer be sent.
