New item type: Image matrix
A new item type Image matrix has been added. The Image matrix consists of one or more multiple choice questions arranged in rows. The specificity of this item type is that the answer options are images.
Optimisation of defining the item font size
From assessmentQ 2024.05, authors can easily adjust the font size of their items at the item level. All item content now has an easily customisable font size.
- The default font size is still set per author.
- The default font size is applied to all newly created items.
- The font size of previously created items is not adjusted, but the headings are adjusted and are relative to the item font size.
Support for QTI 2.1 import
QTI® (Question and Test Interoperability) is a standard format for packaging and exchanging questions and exams between different platforms.
Starting from assessmentQ 2024.05, authors can import QTI 2.1 packages into the assessmentQ item bank.
AI-powered PDF import (beta feature)
Authors often have questions available in separate documents. If they want to use these questions in an assessmentQ assignment, they first need to recreate these questions in assessmentQ. The effort and time needed to migrate questions from paper to the assessmentQ item bank have been considerably minimised thanks to this new, fully AI-powered PDF import functionality.
Extension of the AI-powered distractor generation
Up to now, the AI-powered distractor generator (beta feature) in a multiple choice question used the question and the answer to generate distractors, but this did not always give the desired results immediately.
Starting from assessmentQ 2024.05, the automatic distractor generation has become a lot more powerful. Authors are now able to refine the generated distractors according to their needs.
API expansions
In assessmentQ 2024.05, the following API calls have been added:
For schedules:
- GET /v2/schedules/{id}/sessions to retrieve all sessions in a schedule
For grading:
Customers who grade items outside assessmentQ can now update the item scores in assessmentQ via the API integration with their own data platform. That way, the item analysis and reporting in the assessmentQ backoffice can be used.
- PATCH /v2/grading/sessions/{sessionId}/{itemId} to score items via API.
Optionally, comments and feedback can be added. - POST /v2/grading/publications/{id}/finishgrading to change the status of the assignment to Grading completed.
More information:
A detailed overview of the available API calls can be retrieved from the assessmentQ online API documentation that you can find by browsing to your API Endpoint URL.
Improvement: image zooming
When a participant clicks on the magnifying glass symbol in the player to zoom in on an image, the image opens in a zoom pop-up. To close the zoom pop-up, the participant had to click the 'X' in the upper right corner of the pop-up. Starting from 2024.05, the zoom pop-up will also close when the participant clicks outside the zoom pop-up.
Reorganised item tab properties
The item properties have been reorganised into two new sections in the Item tab:
- Options
- Additional information
Showing multiple solutions in math entry
If an author added multiple solutions to a math item, all solutions will now be shown in the player.
