A right-to-left language (RTL) is written and read from right to left, top to bottom.
In assessmentQ, the writing direction is automatically detected for most of the assessmentQ item types.
As an author, you will notice that the writing direction will automatically change if you add content in a RTL language in your item. This applies not only to the content blocks, but also to the answer block.

For most assessmentQ item types the writing direction is detected automatically. Only for the following item types a manual configuration by the author is required:
- Open question: The answer language has to be set. More information.
- Translate: The writing direction of the source language and target language has to be set. More information.
- Revise text: The writing direction of the source language and the language to revise has to be set. More information.
- There is no support for RTL languages in the answer block of the economic item types, crossword puzzle and math.
