assessmentQ 2025.02 contains the following new features and improvements:
- In the module Assignments
- In the Schedules modules
- In the Settings module
- New template setting to show the item score
- Other improvements
- Removed features
Re-organisation and enhancements of the assignments tabs
The tabs in the Assignment module are now organised in a more logical order and better aligned with the authoring workflow for assignments:
- By default, the first tab is now the Items tab, immediately followed by the Score and result tab.
- The Overview tab has been renamed to Details and has been moved to the last position.
Furthermore:
- The table overview under the Items tab has undergone a visual and functional update. For more information, see below.
- The Result tab has been renamed to Score and result. Setting the passing scores for your assignment is now done in the Score and result tab. For more information, see below.
- As an author, you can now set the interface language for your assignment under the Behaviour tab. For more information, see below.
Enhancements in the items overview of an assignment
Both functional and visual enhancements have been made to the items overview of an assignment, making it much clearer and more intuitive to use. For example:
- The checkboxes for bulk editing the items are now enabled by default, eliminating the need to manually (de)activate the bulk edit mode.
- The Arrange items button has been moved next to the Add part button.
- Adding time limits to parts is now done using a dedicated button in the part header.
The parts overview shows a summary of the number of items, the maximum score, the passing score (if any), and the time limit (if any) for each part. Newly added parts are always added at the bottom.
Extended passing score settings
Up to now, you could only set the passing score for an assignment on the level of each part.
Starting from assessmentQ 2025.02, you can set the passing score:
- on the level of each part
- on the level of the assignment
- or on both the level of the assignment and each part.
The passing score is set in the tab Score and result.
Note that minimum score has been renamed to passing score.
Defining the interface language for an assignment
As an author, you can now define the interface language for your assignment:
- By default, the interface language of a newly created assignment will correspond to the default interface language of your assessmentQ environment.
- If needed, you can overwrite the default interface language for your assignment.
Defining the interface language for your assignment is done in the tab Behaviour.
Additionally, the interface language has been added to the column selector of the assignments overview allowing you to quickly check if the interface language of your assignments is correctly set.
Redesign of the Schedules page
As a scheduler, you will notice that you no longer see separate lanes for Timing, Assignments, Participants and E-mail notifications.
Starting from assessmentQ 2025.02, these scheduling settings have been redesigned in the new lane Delivery, so the exam flow is reflected better in the schedule.
Header lane in published schedules
All published portal schedules now have a header lane. Depending on the delivery type, helpful links are available in the header.
For example:
In the header lane of published schedules with a sign-in code, you can now open or copy the URL of the sign-in code page of your assessmentQ environment.
New in LTI schedules: Copy resource IDs
As a scheduler, you can now copy the LTI resource ID of your assignment.
Note: For the Copy resource IDs button to be available in your LTI schedules, the LTI 1.3 configuration for your assessmentQ environment needs to be adjusted. For more information, see below.
Default level for the passing score
As an administrator, you can define the default level of the passing score for new assignments. Authors can still change this default value if required.
Defining the default level for the passing score is done in the General settings.
Note: For our existing customers, the default level for the passing score is set to passing score per part (as this was the only passing score setting in place until now). For new customers, the default level for the passing score will be set to passing score per assignment.
Managing interface languages
Until now, there were 10 languages available by default in your assessmentQ environment. With this release, 31 languages will become available.
As an administrator, you can enable the languages you want to use in your assessmentQ environment. This way, you don't have to bother your backoffice users with languages that will never be used.
New configuration option in your LTI 1.3 integration
In the LTI 1.3 configuration settings, a new option has been added allowing administrators to choose whether the schedulers can copy the LTI link or the LTI resource ID to their assignments:
For certain integrations, like the LTI 1.3 integration with Moodle, the LTI link must be used. For other integrations, like the integration with eBlox HR, the LTI resource ID must be used. Contact your administrator or integrator to know which option to use.
New template setting to show the item score
A new option in the assessmentQ player allows you to show the maximum item score to the participants. Displaying the item score in the player helps the participants assess the importance or "weight" of a question.
Displaying the maximum item score can be enabled in the assignment template.
If enabled, the maximum item score is shown in the item header of the player.
