- Configuration of item scores in session reports
- Other improvements
- Removed features
Performance levels
In assessmentQ 2025.04 a new score and result setting has been introduced for assignments: the performance levels. Performance levels add qualitative meaning and context to an assignment report that percentages or scores alone cannot provide. They also allow you to map a score to, e.g., a letter grade, such as A, B, C, ...
The performance levels are defined by the administrator in the performance level templates.
Example:
As an author, you can choose to activate predefined performance levels for your assignment.
Performance level in assessmentQ reports:
- The performance levels can optionally be shown in the report on the participant's portal.
- Analysts can display the performance levels in the assignment, user and session reports as well as in the PDF and Excel exports.
Example:
Note: We are introducing Performance levels to all customers as a beta feature. To use performance levels, your assessmentQ administrator must first enable this beta feature in the settings module of assessmentQ. The beta feature may be removed again later, depending on your assessmentQ license.
Configuration of item scores in session reports
Up to now, items and item scores have always been shown in the session reports. Starting from assessmentQ 2025.04:
- As an administrator, you can now configure whether items should be displayed in the reports on the participant's portal.
More information
- Analysts can choose to show or hide the item scores in the PDF exports of session reports generated in the Results module.

Other improvements
-
Finish dialogue in the player
The look and feel of the finish dialog in the player has been updated:- The checkmark is no longer displayed in the finish dialogue, because participants sometimes (incorrectly) interpreted it as an indication of having passed the assignment.
- The total score (if shown) is no longer displayed in green or red depending on the passed/failed status.
- The passing score is now shown in a tooltip on the information icon.
(Note that the passing score is only shown when it is activated in the assignment template.)
-
Items tab in assignments
As an author, when you open the Items tab of your assignment, you will see that the parts you previously left open or closed are remembered.
For example, when you edit an item in the item bank from within your assignment, and you open this assignment again, the part that contains the item is automatically opened.
-
Default language in assignment messages
As an author, you will see that the language in the end message of an assignment or in the messages in between parts in an adaptive assignment now corresponds to the default language setting of your assessmentQ environment. If needed, you can change this to the language of your choice.
-
Calculations in Item analysis
Starting from assessmentQ 2025.04:- Values in Item analysis now only include data from sessions that have been both started and finished.
- The calculation of Cronbach's Alpha now only includes items that have a score.
Items without a score such as (case) information pages or items for which both the min and max score are 0 are not included.
-
Forced feedback in player
In an assignment with linear navigation and forced feedback, the participants will now first see the message they haven’t answered the question. That way, they still have the opportunity to provide an answer and view the corresponding feedback.
-
Schedule via API
When trying to create or patch a schedule with identical start and end times, an error message will now be returned via the API.
Removed features
-
Finish dialog in the player
The checkmark has been removed from the finish dialogue, see Improvements above.
-
Session reports
It is no longer possible to export session reports to PDF without showing the score.
