Multiple choice matrix

Background

The Multiple choice matrix item type is a multiple choice exercise built like a table. The columns (except the first column) contain bullets for the different answers.

Procedure

Proceed as follows to create a Multiple choice matrix item:

  1. Right click the folder in which you want the Multiple choice matrix item to appear.
  2. Select New item.
    Result: The screen Make new item appears
  3. Select the item type Multiple choice matrix item.
  4. Give it a name.
  5. Click OK.
    • Open the tab Properties to add or change the metadata of this item.
    • Open the tab Content and click on the text icon to add a text field or the asset icon to add an image, sound or video , … .
  6. Click + Column to add a new column to the right of the table.
    - Column deletes the last added column.
  7. Click + Row to add a row at the end of the table.
    -Row deletes the last added row.
  8. Click in the heading of the rows or columns to add questions and answers.
  9. Click in the relevant cell to add a score and feedback in the tabs below.
    Result: The Choice tab is activated.

Advanced options

If you want to...then...
put the line between columns and rows in bold (example 1 below). Check the box to the left of the column or row heading.
hide the lines of the table (example 2 below).
  1. Select the Question tab below.
  2. Uncheck Show lines.
