Fill gaps: using text filtering options

The answer of a student/candidate to a fill gaps question may contain minor differences compared to the correct answer, such as differences in the use of capitals or punctuation. The text filtering option allows you to ignore these minor differences in the correction of fill gaps questions.

As an author, you can choose to:

  • Ignore punctuation
  • Ignore diacritics
  • Ignore case
  • Ignore whitespace

As an author, you enter the correct answer and you select which text differences should be ignored.

Both answers ‘Aids’ and ‘A.I.D.S’ are correct, because the differences in punctuation and case are ignored compared to the correct answer ‘AIDS’.
