Background
With Sonus, you can rip audio CD tracks to digital files. Even without having a physical copy of the CD you will be able to play the files, send the audio to the students, record into the files, etc.
Procedure
Proceed as follows to rip and audio CD:
- Insert the CD into your computer.
- Click Tools in the Sonus menu, then Rip an audio CD.
Result: The CD ripper menu for Sonus opens.
- Uncheck any track you do not wish to digitise.
- Check Store as single file to store all files in one large file.
- Check Compress to MP3 to compress to .mp3 format.
- Check Add bookmarks for Sonus to add indications at the start of each single file.
Only available if Store as single file is checked. - Check Show tracknames in Sonus so Track 01, Track 02,… will show up as indicators of the different tracks digitised in this single file. They are shown in Sonus as subtitles.

- Click Rip.
- Navigate to the folder in which you want to save the digitised track(s) and click Save.
