Background
The open question in assessmentQ supports various scoring mechanisms:
- Manual scoring
Manual scoring is the default scoring mechanism for open questions.
Manual scoring can be used for open questions with or without keywords.
When manual scoring is selected, a score is not calculated automatically. The score will have to be assigned by an Evaluator. - Automatic scoring per item
This scoring mechanism can only be used for open questions with keywords.
When automatic scoring per item is selected, the answer is evaluated as a whole: the user only gets full grades if his answer contains all correct keywords and no wrong keywords. - Automatic scoring per keyword
This scoring mechanism can only be used for open questions with keywords.
When automatic scoring per keyword is selected, a score is calculated for each keyword in the answer: the user also gets points if his answer is partially correct.
Tip: For each scoring mechanism, an evaluator or administrator can view the users' answers and manually override the scores.
Procedure
Proceed as follows to select the scoring mechanism for an open question:
- Open your open question.
- In the Item tab, select the scoring mechanism of your choice.
