Creating an assignment with fixed items

Background

In this procedure we describe the creation of an assignment with fixed items, i.e. the participants will see all the items in the assignment. 

Procedure

Proceed as follows to create an assignment with fixed items:

1. Go to Authoring > Assignments.
2. Click +Add.
   Result: The Add assignment popup appears.
3. In the Add assignment pop-up:
   • Select the type Exam or Exercise.
   • Select Fixed.
   • Click Add.
   
   Result: The Items tab of the assignment is opened. You will see that your assignment contains one empty part by default.
4. Enter the name of the assignment in the breadcrumb trail at the top.
5. In the Items tab, add items to the part:
   • Select the part and click the Add items button. 
     Result: The Add items popup appears.
   • Select one or more items or folders and click Add. 
     Result: The popup is closed and the selected items have been added to the selected part. 
6. To add another part, click the Add part button and repeat step 5.
7. Open the Score and result tab and define what you want to show to the user when he finishes the assignment, and set the passing score. More information.   
8. Open the Behaviour tab and select the assignment template you want to use, select the interface language (more information) and optionally set a time limit.
9. If your assignment is an exam and you want to secure the delivery, open the Security tab and enable the Safe Exam Browser. More information.

Result: Your assignment is saved automatically and is ready to be reviewed or approved.
