Showing the result to the participants
By default, no results are shown to the participants when they finish their assignment.
As an author, you can define whether or not to show the participant's result immediately after finishing the assignment.
To show the result to the participants, proceed as follows:
- Go to Authoring > Assignments.
Result: You see the list of your assignments. - Click on the assignment of your choice.
Result: The Items tab is opened. - Open the Score and result tab.
- In the On finish section:
- Select Show the total score and define whether the score should be shown as a percentage or in points.
- Optionally, select Show score per part.
Showing a result-based end message to the participant
To show a result-based end message to the participants, proceed as follows:
- Go to Authoring > Assignments.
Result: You see the list of your assignments. - Click on the assignment of your choice.
Result: The Items tab is opened. - Open the Score and result tab.
- In the On finish section:
- Select Show end message.
- Choose whether the message should be shown to the participants based on whether or not the participants passed the assignment, or based on their score.
- Enter the end message(s).
Tips:
- The default messages that are displayed when you pass or fail the assignment are defined in the selected assignment template. More information.
- In this end message, you can use images, videos, or audio files to make the message more attractive.
Sending a confirmation mail to the participants
As an author, you can choose if the participants must receive an e-mail to confirm that they finished an assignment.
To send a confirmation mail to the participants, proceed as follows:
- Go to Authoring > Assignments.
Result: You see the list of your assignments. - Click on the assignment of your choice.
Result: The Items tab is opened. - Open the Score and result tab.
- In the On finish section, select Send a confirmation e-mail to the participant when he finishes the assignment.
Defining the passing score for an assignment
As an author, you can define the passing score for your assignment. You can set the passing score:
-
on assignment only
You set a passing score on the assignment only if you want your participants to obtain a passing score for the entire assignment (independent of their score for the different parts of your assignment). -
on parts only
You set a passing score on parts only if your participants must obtain a certain score for each part in your assignment to pass. -
on both assignment and parts
You set the passing score on both the assignment and the parts if you want your participants to meet the passing scores for all the parts in your assignment and a higher threshold at the assignment level. For example, at least 50% for all parts and a passing score of 60% for the entire assignment.
Notes:
- Defining a passing score is not supported for adaptive assignments.
- It is not possible to change the passing score for assignments that have the status Live.
To define the passing score for your assignment, proceed as follows:
- Go to Authoring > Assignments.
Result: You see the list of your assignments. - Click on the assignment of your choice.
Result: The Items tab is opened. - Open the Score and result tab.
- Scroll down to the Results section and select the passing score level of your choice.
Note: The default level at which you can set the passing score for your assignment is defined by the administrator of your assessmentQ environment. If you would like the default level to be changed, please contact your administrator. More information.
- If you select On assignment only, set the passing score on the level of your assignment.
Example: - If you select On parts only, set the passing score for each part in your assignment.
Example: - If you select On both assignment and parts, set the passing score both on the level of your assignment and for each part in your assignment.

Defining the performance level for an assignment
As an author, you can choose to activate predefined performance levels for your assignment.
You can set the performance level:
-
on assignment only
You set a performance level on the assignment only if you want to assign a performance level to the participants based on their score on the entire assignment (independent of their score for the different parts of your assignment). -
on parts only
You set a performance level on parts only if you want to assign a performance level to the participants for each part in your assignment. -
on both assignment and parts
You set a performance level on both the assignment and the parts if you want to assign a performance level to the participants for their overall assignment score as well as for each part in the assignment.
Performance levels are defined in performance level templates. The performance level templates are created and managed by your assessmentQ administrator. If you have any questions or remarks about the mapping between the score and the performance levels, please contact your assessmentQ administrator. More information.
Notes:
- Performance levels is a beta feature. It is not by default enabled in your assessmentQ environment. If you don't have access to this feature, please contact your assessmentQ administrator. More information.
- Defining a performance level is not supported for adaptive assignments.
- It is not possible to change the performance level for assignments that have the status Live.
To define the performance level for your assignment, proceed as follows:
- Go to Authoring > Assignments.
Result: You see the list of your assignments. - Click on the assignment of your choice.
Result: The Items tab is opened. - Open the Score and result tab.
- Scroll down to Results and select the desired setting for the performance level.
Note: The default setting for the performance level is defined by the administrator of your assessmentQ environment. If you would like the default setting to be changed, please contact your administrator. More information.
- Select the desired performance level template(s) for your assignment.
Tip: You can see the performance level template settings by clicking on the View icon.
Defining the review template for an assignment
The review template defines what the participants will see when they review their assignment.
As an author, you can use the default review template or you can override the review template settings for your assignment. These changes have no impact on the default review template.
To change the review settings for your assignment, proceed as follows:
- Go to Authoring > Assignments.
Result: You see the list of your assignments. - Click on the assignment of your choice.
Result: The Items tab is opened. - Open the Score and result tab.
- Scroll down to the Review section and click Modify settings.
- Change the review settings to your needs and click Save.
Result: When reviewing their assignment, the participants will see the score, correction and feedback depending on the settings you have defined.
Notes:
- The default review template is set by the administrator of your assessmentQ environment. If you cannot change the review template settings or if you want the default review template settings to be changed, please contact your administrator. More information.
- As an author, you can only define the review template settings for your assignment. In order to schedule the review for your assignment, you need a scheduler role. More information.
