Background
When you want assessmentQ to reflect your review workflow, it is useful to customise the available statuses of the items in your item bank.
By default, assessmentQ items have one of these four statuses:
- Draft
- To be reviewed
- Reviewed
- Approved
The status Draft cannot be changed as it is the initial status of all new items. It is also the status of items that contain validation errors.
The status Approved cannot be changed either as it indicates the item can be included in an assignment.
This means you can remove the remaining statuses, rename them or add more statuses.
Note: Item statuses apply to your entire channel, so they are identical for all authors.
Adding an item status
To add a new item status, proceed as follows:
- Go to All settings > Item statuses.
Result: The available item statuses in your channel appear. - Click the Add button.
Result: The Add status dialog window appears. - Enter the name of the new status in English, French, and Dutch.
- Click the colour you want the status to have.
- Click the Save button.
Result: Your new status has been added to the list of available statuses. - If required, move the status up or down in the list by dragging it with the bars on the left.
Result: The authors can now use the new status for their items.
Editing an item status
Warning: When you edit an item status, the changes will be applied immediately to all items in the item bank.
To edit an item status, proceed as follows:
- Go to All settings > Item statuses.
Result: The available item statuses in your channel appear. - Click the three dots to the right of the status you want to edit, and select Edit.
Result: The Edit status dialog window appears. - Change the name or colour of the status.
- Click the Save button.
Result: Your status has been updated in the list.
Deleting an item status
Warning: When you delete an item status, the changes will be applied immediately to all items in the item bank.
To delete an item status, proceed as follows:
- Go to All settings > Item statuses.
Result: The available item statuses in your channel appear. - Click the three dots to the right of the status you want to delete, and select Delete.
Result: The dialog window Are you sure? appears. - Select the new status the items with the deleted status should get, and click Yes.
Result: The status has been deleted. All items that had this status will now have the new status you have selected.
