Background
A scenario is basically the blueprint of the assignment the author wants to create. So when the scenario has been checked and approved, the author can create one or more assignments based on the scenario.
Tip: assessmentQ allows you to create multiple assignments at once from one scenario. This way, you can create equivalent assignments, e.g. for different groups of participants, or for participants that have to re-sit an exam. This is not only a big time-saver, but also a great way to prevent fraud.
Procedure
Proceed as follows to create an assignment from a scenario:
- Go to Authoring > Scenarios.
- Open an approved scenario.
Note: You can only create an assignment from approved scenarios, not from draft scenarios.
- Click the button Create assignment in the top right corner.
Result: The wizard Create assignment appears in a popup window. - In the Details step, enter the number of assignments you want to create (maximum 10), enter the name of the assignment, and optionally add tags and a description for the assignment.
Note: When you select more than 1 assignment, the assignments that will be created will have the name you entered followed by a number starting at 1. For example, when you create 2 assignments called "Math exam", then you will get 2 assignments called "Math exam 1" and "Math exam 2".
- Click Next.
Result: You move to the Behaviour step. - Select the assignment type, the assignment template, the theme of the assignment and click Next.
Result: In case you selected Exam, you will move to the Security step and you can proceed with step 8. In case you selected Exercise, you will move to the Results step and you can proceed with step 10. - In the Security step, choose if you want to secure your exam with Safe Exam Browser or not. If so, enter the required settings.
- Click Next.
Result: You move to the Results step. - Choose which results you want to show to the participants, if the assignment must be graded and what the review template should be.
- Click Next.
Result: You get an overview of the assignment or assignments that will be created and their settings. - Check if everything is set up the way you want, and click Save.
Result: You end up on the Assignments page, which is filtered by the scenario you used. As a result, you will see the assignment or assignments you just created. You can check, approve and publish them.
