Roles: reviewer vs author
The content review module comes with a new role: the Reviewer. A reviewer is a subject matter expert to whom a review task can be assigned. By default, he only has access to the Content review submodule in the Authoring module. So he cannot create or edit items himself. He cannot create review tasks either, only be assigned to review tasks.
The author, on the other hand, can obviously create and edit items, but also create review tasks, so he can have his items reviewed.
The table below shows the difference between the roles Author and Reviewer.
Reviewer | Author | |
---|---|---|
Access to Authoring > Items | No | Yes |
Access to Authoring > Content review | Yes | Yes |
Can create new review tasks in Authoring > Content review | No | Yes |
Can be assigned as the reviewer of a content review task | Yes | Yes |
Note: It is of course possible to edit the permissions related to the default roles under User Management > Roles. This way, you can for instance create a reviewer role who can also manage review tasks. For more information on editing roles, see About roles and permissions
Which review tasks will I see?
