Background
If you have an existing file which you would like to send to (and open on) the student PCs you have two options:
- File activities allows the teacher to send all kinds of files to the class and control to what extent the students can modify its contents.
- File transfer is a quick and easy way to send the files to your students. However, once sent, you do not have any control over the file(s) anymore.
Procedure
Sending files through File activities
Proceed as follows to send files through File activities:
- In the Class view, select the students you want to send the file to.
Skip this step if you want to include the whole class. - Under File activities, select the file format corresponding to your file.
For audio/video files, select Sonus or Signus. - Click the first to add the file.
Result: The windows directory opens in a new window. - Navigate to the file you want to send and double-click it.
- Optionally, you can add an attachment by clicking the second and repeating the previous step.
- Click Options for this activity... to change settings such as automatic collecting, restricted playback,… .
- Click in the top left to send and open the file on the students’ computers.
Tip: With these control buttons, you control the file on every student PC at the same time.
- Click to close the application on the students’ PCs.
Sending files through File transfer
Proceed as follows to send files through File transfer:
- In the Class view, select the students you want to send the file to.
Skip this step if you want to include the whole class. - Under File Transfer:
- Click to send a file to the students' PCs.
- Click to send and immediately open files on the students' PCs.
- Click or .
Result: The windows directory opens. - Navigate to the file you want to send and double-click.
- Click Ok.
