Upgrading a control PC to Windows 11

Learn how to restore the ERSClientService after upgrading a control PC to Windows 11.

This article covers the steps to take in order to restore the ERSClientService after upgrading the control PC to Windows 11.

  • Before upgrade, back up config file "C:\ProgramData\Televic Education\ERSClient\serviceconfig.xml"

  • After upgrade, restore the config file to the same location

  • Reinstall ERSClientService. The installer is available on our partner domain

  • Start the service; it is listed under the Windows services as "Televic Education ERS Client Service"

  • In case the used PC hardware has changed, the license might be invalidated and the service will refuse to start. In that case, re-activate the license following the procedure at How to activate the ERSClientService license

Remark:

In case the PC also contains additional software like the T-CAM software for control of conference table cameras, this software will also need to be reinstalled and reconfigured. Detailed info about this software can be obtained from Televic Conference support through [email protected].
