In this article, you will find out what's new in version 0.9.1 of translationQ.
The new features and improvements in this version include:
- Automatic segmentation of source texts
- Word import

Let's explore these features one by one.
Automatic segmentation of source texts
When you copy-paste a complete source text in translationQ, your source text will now be automatically segemented based on the punctuation: new segments will start after a point, exclamation mark or question mark.
Tip: As a revisor, you can still fine-tune or override this auto-segmentation yourself if required. Use the Enter and Backspace keys for that purpose.
Word import
In the source texts section, you can now import not only .sdlxlifff files, but also .docx files. For now, the import engine still strips out images and objects from the document, but tables, header and footer text and footnotes are imported correctly as well.
Batch user import
You can now add your translators easily in batch to translationQ: in the administration module, you can import users using an Excel file. You can find a sample Excel file under Administration > Users.
As part of the import process, you can even add your users to one or more groups immediately.
Easier selection of error categories
translationQ uses the DQF error categorisation by default. This standard contains a lot of categories, so we made the selection of a particular error category easier in 2 ways:
- Main and subcategories are displayed together as "main category > subcategory" in one dropdown list
- The dropdown list is searchable so you can find the correct category very fast.
Improved selection of identical errors
When you add a new error, translationQ automatically searches for identical errors in the current and other incomplete revisions. However, if you selected e.g. "is" as an error, words like "this" and "misunderstanding" would also be selected as potential errors.
To reduce these false positive errors, translationQ now recognises that "is" is a word on its own, and will not select "this" or "misunderstanding" anymore. Further, if you only select "is" at the beginning or at the end of a word, e.g. in "island" or "this", then translationQ will only look for words that respectively start or end with "is".
Possibility to add general feedback to a translation
In the Revisions module, you can now add general feedback to a translation, i.e. feedback about the whole of the translation, and not related to one particular error.
Your translator can then see this feedback in his personal report on the portal.
Changing the password of any user as administrator
In the administration module, administrators can now change the password of individual users. Users can also still change their password by clicking the "Forgot your password?" link on the login screen.
