Background
You can create a translation assignment based on a certain source text. A translation assignment is available for a certain period for one or more translators.
You can create a translation assignment from within
- the Source texts module, or
- the Translation Assignments module.
Creating a translation assignment from within the source texts module
Proceed as follows to create a translation assignment:
- Click on the source text you want to use for the assignment.
Result: You see a preview of the source text. - Click the Create translation assignment button in the top right corner of the screen.
Result: The Create translation assignment wizard appears. - In the Properties tab, fill in the necessary values.
- Click Next.
- In the Instruction tab, type the instruction your translators will see when they open the assignment.
- Click Next.
- In the Translators tab, select the translators for this assignment and click > in the middle of the screen to add them to the Selected translators.
Tip: you can use the search field to filter the list of available translators.
- In the Revision tab, select one or more revisors for the assignment, and select the options you want to apply to the assignment.
- Click Finish at the bottom of the page.
Result: The assignment appears on the translators' portal and has the status "Not started" in the backoffice. As soon as a translator has started translating the assignment, its status will change to "Live".
Creating a translation assignment from within the translation assignments module
Proceed as follows to create a translation assignment:
- Click on Translation assignments in the left navigation bar.
Result: You see a list of already available translation assignments. - Click the + Add button in the top right corner of the screen.
Result: The Create translation assignment wizard appears. - In the dropdown list Source text, select the source text you want to use for the assignment.
- In the Properties tab, fill in the necessary values.
- Click Next.
- In the Instruction tab, type the instruction your translators will see when they open the assignment.
- Click Next.
- In the Translators tab, select the translators for this assignment and click > in the middle of the screen to add them to the Selected translators.
