When a new lab is installed, or when the PC's in a lab are replaced, it will be necessary to identify the student computers (again).
Procedure
To identify the student PC's:
- Open TCC on the teacher PC.
- Log in as admin.
- Go to Edit class layouts.
Click on Identify student computers.
Result: A large number appears on all student computer screens. This number indicates the lowest available desk position in the classroom layout.
If you are replacing one or more student PCs in an existing lab, you will first need to clear the stored MAC addresses of the previous PCs in the TCC classroom layout, by selecting the student desks and clicking the red cross - this removes the previous PC identifications and frees the positions to allow a new PC to be linked to those positions.
- Walk to each of the student computers and click <ENTER> to assign the displayed position to each computer. The position will auto-increment on each click.
