Screen layout
The review screen has an identical layout as our standalone interpreterQ Media Player. It allows to replay a source recording and any of the interpretation recordings, jump to specific timestamps ("markers") created during the activity, add textual feedback to the interpretations, adjust the volume of source and interpretation independently.
With a button click the review screen can also be projected on a large screen in the classroom, or streamed to the booths for further discussion with the students.
Replay the source or student recordings
The student list on the left allows to select either the source speech or one of the student recordings for playback. It is possible to jump to another student recording during playback, or to scroll through all student recordings sequentially using the "previous/next" buttons on top of the list.
Volume of source and translation can be adjusted independently by clicking the speaker icon at the left of the waveform bars. The source waveform (in grey) is shown at the top, the translation waveform (in red) below.
If you have added some markers during the activity (by clicking the marker button during monitoring) you can easily jump to those markers by clicking the < or > buttons next to the time bar. The marker positions are shown as small dots on this time bar.
Picture-in-picture view
When booth cameras are used during the recording and the source speech also contains video, a picture-in-picture view is used to enable reviewing both source video and student video. This view is customizable: simply drag the small overlay screen to any of the 4 corners, or drag it to the side of the source view to create a side-by-side view instead of picture-in-picture. You can swap source view and student view by dragging the small overlay view to the center of the bigger view. In side-by-side view the source is always shown on the left side, the student recording on the right side.
Add feedback
You can add textual feedback at any position in a student recording. Click the message balloon button in the lower right to open the feedback panel.
Play in the classroom
The activity review can be done as a group discussion with all students present in the classroom. Click the "Play in the classroom" button in order to move the review screen to the left monitor, which is also duplicated on a large screen. The audio is automatically sent to the classroom speakers.
Play in the booths
In case you prefer to review the activity during a group discussion while the students remain seated in the booths, you can also stream the review screen to the student PCs in the booths. Use the button "Play on the student PCs" for this.
At the same time, you can enable a group discussion with the students by clicking the button "Discuss with the students". This will activate all booth microphones and route them to the floor, which means that teacher and all students are able to hear each other by listening to the FLOOR channel.
