The interpreterQ software uses the "Dante Virtual Soundcard" software on all PCs. It emulates a Windows soundcard which is used to receive and send audio as a digital Dante stream.
When an issue occurs with the DVS application on the teacher PC, a red popup will appear when launching interpreterQ : "...please restart Dante Virtual Soundcard"
When a DVS issue occurs on a booth PC, the classroom view in interpreterQ will show an exclamation mark on the the booth representation, and on the booth PC itself a red cross will appear on top of the Avidanet client icon :
Solution :
Please check if the DVS software is still running. It can occur that a Windows update automatically stops the software, in that case it needs to be started again manually : type "DVS" in the Windows search bar, click Dante Virtual Soundcard > Open and click the "Start" button in the DVS user interface :
Note: make sure you select the correct network interface, labeled DANTE.
Check that the "Start" button is now replaced by a "Stop" button, which indicates that the DVS software is correctly running.
If problems persist, check with Dante Controller if the Central Unit is still detected and used as grand master clock device (the central unit might be named something like "aer-....") :
If this would not be the case, a power cycle of the Central Unit might be required.
In rare occasions it may be necessary to reinstall the DVS software. In that case make sure you have the DVS license for that PC at hand, as it may be required to enter the license info again after reinstall.
In case the problem cannot be resolved and Audinate support needs to be involved, please collect the DVS logfiles. This can be done from the last tab of the DVS user interface :
