The Avidanet client software, which runs on the booth PCs, connects to the interpreterQ software on the teacher PC over the network. If this connection cannot be made, the small student icon in the Windows notification area will remain orange instead of blue :
and a tooltip may indicate "looking for TCC"
Solution
The main cause for such issue (apart from an obvious network connection problem) is that the incorrect network card has been selected to create the connection. When the used network card would be unavailable for some time, the Avidanet client software may switch to using a different network card, and this setting needs to be corrected manually when the network card is available again.
Launch the configurator at C:\Program Files (x86)\Televic Education\client\configurator.exe, and under "General settings" select the network card which connects to the university network. Do not use the "default" option and double chek if the mentioned IP address is indeed the correct one.
In the rare occasion that correcting this setting does not solve the connection problem, it might be necessary to temporarily disable all other network cards and reboot the PC. After the connection with interpreterQ has been restored, the other network cards can be enabled again. The connection will then be correctly established after subsequent PC reboots.
